Water Wash Hood
Exhaust-Only & Compensating Models

Canopy style exhaust ventilator utilizing high velocity slot type grease extraction with automatic internal water wash system and integrated dwell and rinse cycles. The SCA models are recommended for single or double width applications, ceiling or wall mounted, over all types of cooking equipment.

   SPECIFICATIONS
  • UL Listed and built in accordance with NFPA #96, NSF Listed and recognized by ICBO, BOCA and SBCCI.
  • Constructed of 18 gauge, type 304 stainless steel, #4 polish. All exposed joints and seams are continuously welded, liquid-tight.
  • Overall size is indicated on plans.
  • Grease extraction is accomplished by a series of baffles and turns creating increased velocity, causing grease particles to be thrown centrifugally from the airstream. Removable lower cartridge allows access to the hot water manifold.
  • Positive closing stainless steel fire damper mounted on 3/8" rod assisted by a fully enclosed spring-loaded mechanism activated by a UL approved fusible link rated at 286°F. Access to fusible link and upper exhaust plenum area provided by means of removable access doors not to exceed 40" in length.
  • Exhaust duct collars are 8" high with a 1" flange. Duct sizes, CFM and static pressure requirements are shown on plans.
  • Automatic internal water wash system is designed to provide a secondary protection in the event of a fire by means of a 245°F thermostat located at the duct collar which shuts off the fans and activates the water wash sequence to prevent flame spread.
  • Incandescent light fixtures and globes are installed and prewired to a junction box. Lamps to be provided by others.

   ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

   MAKE-UP AIR OPTIONS

Incorporating one of the following make-up air options, the Model SCA is a compensating hood with integrated make-up air provided through supply collars with volume and fire dampers located at the top of the hood.

  • FP OPTION: Make-up air is discharged through full length stainless steel perforated panels on the face of the hood.
  • IS OPTION: Make-up air is discharged into the hood capture area through a series of diffuser plates and directed upward toward the air inlet of the high velocity grease extraction chamber.
  • FP-SL OPTION: Make-up air is discharged at a low velocity through full length removable stainless steel perforated panels which are angled to provide increased area and low discharge velocity.

   CONTROL PANEL OPTIONS

An electrically controlled panel is provided as part of the hood system to operate the internal cleaning system. The control panel is completely assembled and prewired by the manufacturer, ready for mechanical and electrical connections. The hot water manifold is sized as shown on the plans. Control panel is UL Listed as a "Subassembly for Exhaust Hood with Exhaust Damper."

  • AM-2 Control Panel: The AM-2 panel provides pushbutton operation with relay control of the exhaust and make-up air fans as well as the cleaning cycle of the ventilator hood. The time period of the rinse cycle is adjustable up to 3 minutes. The control panel includes a combination pressure/temperature gauge, shock absorber, pressure reducing valve, water solenoid valve, detergent pump, line strainer, and gate valve. See specification sheet for details.

  • TAC-3000 Control Panel: The TAC-3000 control panel is a state-of-the-art, 24 hour, seven day, solid state water wash control panel, with a four line liquid crystal display and user-friendly menu driven programming. Door mounted indicator lights show the status of supply and exhaust fans, fire condition, water valve, and AC power. Buttons on the stainless steel door, used to control the programming, are touch sensitive with no moving parts. The control panel is capable of controlling up to 5 wash zones independently with user selected durations and delay time between washing as well as controlling the fan ON and OFF times. Three independent auxiliary outputs are programmable to control other electrical devices which the user specifies. The plumbing manifold includes a combination pressure/temperature gauge, shock absorber, pressure reducing valve, water solenoid valve, detergent pump, line strainer and gate valve. See specification sheet for details.
